Experience

Greg joined Reeves+Neylan in 1998 having spent the previous 10 years working for H M Customs and Excise in the VAT discipline. This time was divided between assurance visiting which involved checks on businesses to ensure compliance with VAT legislation, investigation work dealing with non-compliant businesses, registration and de-registration of businesses, and debt recovery and insolvency work. Greg also represented Customs and Excise in tribunal and court proceedings. Prior to joining Customs and Excise Greg trained as a teacher.

Since joining Reeves+Neylan Greg has advised clients and colleagues on a variety of VAT and Duty issues, either as part of regular audit work or from direct contact. Greg has set up and delivered internal and external training programmes covering a variety of VAT and Duty topics, and was integral to the setting up and growth of the ‘DUTYPlus’ and ‘VATPlus’ brands. Greg has specialised in international VAT and duty issues, and also set up and chairs the Kreston International VAT Group, a worldwide network of VAT and Customs specialists.

Personal Interests

Greg is a keen sportsman, and still plays rugby for Canterbury RFC where he is also a qualified coach. He enjoys foreign travel and experiencing different languages, culture, food and drink.
